"This book would be appropriate for an undergraduate social problems, inequality or introduction to sociology course as a supplemental text. I believe the discussion questions at the end of each chapter are especially useful. They could be used for whole class or small group discussion. I could envision using Crone's book in break out discussion groups for a large class. Many of the discussion questions would also be suitable as essay or short answer questions for examinations or writing assignments. Overall, Crone has produced a volume that will introduce students to the linkages between social problems and social theory and to thinking sociologically about social problems." About the Author
James Crone has been a member of the sociology faculty at Hanover College faculty for over 30 years. In the course of his career, he has taught courses on social problems, social stratification, and social theory. Research in all these areas has contributed to his Pine Forge Press book, How Can We Solve Our Social Problems? During his time at Hanover, Professor Crone has served as Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, president of the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and president of the Hanover Town Council.

Very good book, but really going to happen

I have this book for m sociology class. It is a good and well written book which lays out sociological theories and applies them to how to solve social problems, BUT just like any other thing...if this is the answer to all the worlds problems, then how come no one has done anything about it.

The book is exactly what i needed. I gave it four stars because it is actually for school and not for fun reading. haha. The business I ordered it from was great. It came very quickly and was packaged nicely. I will definately order more from them.

Was for a course I took. It's an interesting book. At times it's a bit subjective but the issues it discusses can be that way. It was an easy read and outlined well.
