Review
"The manuscript is, indeed, very easy to read - the personal narratives really get you into the experience of the writer...The wonderful richness of the personal narrative is a grand strength, and providing Clinical Applications that address the narratives helps get the reader to think beyond just simple "difference."...This book offers so much in the way of personal narrative and helping students to understand the lives of those who are different.  This is an enriching addition to the existing multicultural textbook arena." (Suzanne Degges-White 2005-06-03)

This book is so unique! You can really get a glampse of the struggles that people from other ethnicities go through. They're all real stories written from their own perpective. I recommend it not only to counselors, but to anybody who is interested in learning about different cultures.

By Barbara M. Bevins
There is so much for us to learn and this book was able to help me and others in the class identify and see how one's identity is based not by their culture but as an individual. Lots of material to digest and experience some of the experiences that this book contains which were written by individuals of different cultures etc.
